It is awful and cringe, yet unabashedly hilarious. ![]() Some of the voice actors, the main protagonist especially, sound like they are voicing a budget anime series. However, unfortunately, like all most other RE games, the storytelling is horrific and cringe. This game checks off all of the RE boxes: good gameplay, fantastic immersion, decent puzzles, and keeps the player invested. It makes the experience more enjoyable since you are not in a rush to complete it. I found the length of the game fitting, and I like that fact that the RE games aren't that long. Although I found RE 2 and 3 quite scary, they did not actually stir up genuine dread in me the first-person aspect does that! The setting and gameplay compliment the first-person perspective in a way that adequately augments the horror aspects. I'll start off with saying that although I am more a fan of the third-person gameplay of Resident Evil 2 and 3, I found the change to first-person quite refreshing and immersive. It's been some time since I wrote that pompous, badly written review, but after having played Resident Evil Village a year after its initial release, it thought it would be appropriate to return with yet another review on this franchise. The first review I ever wrote on a game was Resident Evil 2, which I also gave a 10/10. ![]()
